White Works on Wood, 2021-2023

An extension of the visual language developed in White Works on Paper, this series brings the principles of repetition, rhythm, and spatial nuance into a more dimensional and architectural form.

Constructed from painted wood elements, paper, and acrylic on wood panels, these reliefs deepen the conversation between material and perception. Working within a restrained white-on-white palette, Laura emphasizes the sculptural potential of minimal forms, where surface, depth, and shadow become active compositional tools.

Each piece invites the eye to navigate subtle topographies: grids bend, spirals pulse, and forms emerge or recede with shifting light. By moving from the delicacy of paper to the solidity of wood, the work becomes more assertive in structure while retaining a meditative clarity.

White on Wood continues an exploration of visual rhythm, but now through form that is not only seen, but felt.
