White on Paper, 2019-2022
This series marks an evolution from earlier collage practices into a refined, monochromatic language centered on precision, rhythm, and material sensitivity. Composed entirely of white paper elements on white grounds, these 2D works explore the subtleties of shape, repetition, and negative space.
By working solely with paper, each composition reveals how minimal interventions, cuts, folds, and overlays, can generate dynamic optical and tactile experiences. As light shifts, so too do the works, casting gentle shadows that animate the surface and invite the viewer into a slow, perceptual engagement.
This series laid the conceptual and formal groundwork for the later White on Wood reliefs, translating visual rhythm into more dimensional, structural compositions.
