Responsive Eye Series, 2023-2024

A study in perception, movement, and spatial interaction.

This series explores how light, shadow, and negative space shape visual experience. Suspended in minimalist floating frames, each piece interacts with its environment, casting shifting shadows and allowing background color to influence form.

As daylight changes -or the viewer’s position- so does the work, creating an ephemeral sense of motion. Guided by principles of rhythm and repetition, the compositions invite the viewer’s gaze to follow, pause, and loop, turning each encounter into a uniquely responsive experience.

The work investigates how our eyes follow paths, get caught in loops, or move along curves. Negative space plays an active role—shifting with light and background, making each viewing experience dynamic and unique.
